Castlerock

The first train left at 11. Late enough to get some sleep after the introductory evening . It was really nice. Janusz, our host, prepared the traditional emmigrant dinner: Tesco-pizza and vodka. We ate just a bit, to feel the taste of it once again.

Going back to the issue of train. Ticket offices at train stations are usually closed on Sunday mornings, and the tickets are distributed by the train attendant, if he or she does turn up at all. They didn't, so we could enjoy a free ride. We got to Castelrock- a famous holiday resort.

Greeted by the sun we marched toward the beach. From a distance we noticed something weird, namely a tank truck riding along the beach and watering the sand. This activity, as it turned out, was to match the reqirements of the local people, who parked their cars on the beach. It would not strike me if they were carying boats, scooters or other water vehicles, but they were just sunbathing in the shade of their cars. The level of our disgust did not allow us for taking any pictures. Forgive us, please.

But the beach itsefl is perfect here: broad, full of clean, soft sand, descending gently into the water. It was really enjoyable. Then, there came time for sightseeing, so we headed towards Musdeen Temple, discussing political situation in Poland and Hungary along the way (Jabnusz is a Hungarian). We sat on the top of a high cliff, had a small talk with an Irish passer-by, and finally got to the Temple. It is a small building, admirably simple, and beautifully situated, with the wiew at the ruins located nearby. Having catered our eyes with the two, we came back to the beach to stare at the mud-wars fought between kids. Magda, in spite of the lack of her swimming suit and the temperature of water, managed to have a little bath.
